Hi, my name is Catherine & I am so happy you stopped by. The pages of my blog will mostly be filled with my journey in motherhood and our ordinary extraordinary moments. There is me, my husband Mark, our beautiful daughter and a beagle, setting down roots in our self build home by the river in the Northern Irish countryside.

The response to my chat this morning has been entirely kind, gracious and thought provoking. Whether we share the same views or not, we all seem to agree that our support services here in Northern Ireland need a lot of work. Are we ready to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in? We all have our part to play in supporting the vulnerable. Just dropping by to say that as sad as I am by the news, today's discussion has lifted my spirits. Let's rewrite the story 💛

A Sunday well spent, scratch that, a weekend well spent. I just feel so content after the simplest weekend with my little tribe. We spent so much time outdoors; in the countryside and at the sea and it was just everything. There's a busy week ahead but I'm ready 🌊

If you had asked me what I would want our Saturday's to look like, before we had kids, this is exactly what I would have described. . Today was so chilled and simple but it's honestly my favourite day in ages. We got up early and decided to treat Susanna to some pancakes at McDonalds before making our way to the farm shop. We spent long time wandering round and picking pumpkins and some fresh veg. Then we had a couple of bits to get in town so instead of rushing round we just took things slowly, stopped for coffee, let Susanna hang out in the book shop for a while. We were home in time for lunch so I made a big pot of butternut squash and sweet potato soup to have with sourdough, oh my! Four empty bowls; it's every mums dream, am I right? Our afternoon was spent playing in the garden and then inside once it got too chilly. I lapped up the opportunity to just join in with Susanna and focus all my attention on her and Connie. Now the girls are asleep, Heidi has already claimed her spot in front of the fire and I'm about to join her. I am so grateful for today; for slow simplicity, for a happy and healthy mind (at last) and for uninterrupted family time. I hope you had a great one too 🦊

Cheers to the weekend // is it just me or was that the fastest week ever? I feel like we should only be halfway through but hey, no complaints here. It's a chilled out weekend ahead. What are you getting up to? 🎃

OK about last night! So hubby and I escaped to Dublin for a few hours to see the incredible Mr @johnmayer. I was left speechless, it is without a doubt one of the best concerts I have ever been to. We had such a lovely evening wandering St Stephens Green, having a leisurely dinner with cocktails might I add (just the one, we didn't completely lose our minds) and just really enjoyed each others company. We arrived home to our sleeping babies in the wee hours of this morning. Needless to say they had a ball with their Nana. . Of course today we could have slept standing up, exhausted but refreshed...isn't that the weirdest thing. We are absolutely shattered but just having those few hours to remember who we are beyond Mummy & Daddy was so revitalising. Our girls are fast asleep, we are flopping on the sofa for the latest episode of This Is Us and then it's an early night 🙏

Snug as a bug // Susanna sent me on a mission to find her some conkers and yellow leaves while she was at preschool today. Connie and I had the loveliest walk with Nana and managed to gather up loads of "treasure" for my big girl. It was our first time trying out @theblinky. I am completely sold and not only because it is in my favourite colour 😍 The Blinky is a fleece lined, reflective buggy blanket with a rain cover, sun shade and sleep shade built-in. We didn't get too far before it got its first comments from passers by either. Here's to lots of cosy adventures this Autumn 💛 #ad #gifteditems

Monday // we are back to routine today after two weeks off. With our holiday then Connie's dedication and Susannas birthday it has been so busy, in the best way. All of our usual day to day "stuff" got pushed aside and while the break was nice I'm so ready to get on top of things again. First stop, a long overdue date with the gym for me. My exercise and diet has been dreadful, time to reset 💪 Happy Monday friends 🍁
